More Test Review for Upcoming Science Test

Parents & Students,

I am posting the answer key to a couple of the workbook pages that I have assigned over Relating Force and Motion for students to be able to check their work and study what they need to don't understand for the test.

Remember: The best browser to view the blog with all of the documents that I have embedded in Google Chrome. You may also click on the Document Title and you will be directed to the website that is hosting the documents. I posted a link above the document as well that you can click on, so that you should not have any problems accessing it.

The test will be this Friday!

A Word About Gaggle

Students have been using Gaggle as both a resource in our class and I have been posting assignments to www.gaggle.net. Students will be seeing this more as they get older in school so I want to expose them to it now. FBISD is using it more in both middle and high school. It is not just used as an email account, but their is a social wall, class message board, chat, and digital locker for free file storage. The district provided these accounts to students to make it easier for students to communicate with both teacher and peers, collaborate with each other, and work on assignments at home.

Many of you noticed that I took a Social Studies grade on a discussion post that I placed on the Class page. I will always give ample time for students to complete these assignments of at least a couple of days, allowing students to find a computer with internet access. For this particular assignment students had a space of three weeks to complete the assignment and a reminder email was sent out to students through Gaggle. For those students who did not complete this assignment, I am allowing them to go in and reply to these posts for these two discussions (Latin America and the Aztecs)

We have also discussed that Gaggle works best in Internet Explorer 8. You may want to upgrade your browser in order to view this website without problems. If you are having errors on the page while in Gaggle you might want to run the site in Compatability mode or hit F5 to refresh your browser. We have also noticed that this website runs well (actually better) in Google Chrome as a browser. You may download Google Chrome for free.

Science Test This Friday

This Friday, February 17 we will be taking a Science Test. I have embedded the notes that we have covered in class below and also the review sheet for students to study from. Students have taken these notes in class as we discussed them, but I am posting them for you here for your convenience.

Please note that I will not be sending home a copy of the review sheet due to limited copies at our campus. Students know that it is their responsibility to pull off the review sheet from this blog.

I will also post their documents to the students class documents in Gaggle and share the document in their Gaggle Digital Locker. You may have noticed that we are using Gaggle more for both class assignment and as a way for students to ask questions in class. Students will see this more in Middle School and I am doing my best to prepare them.

For those of you using Internet Explorer to view these documents you might get an error message that does not allow you to view multiple embedded documents in one page. You may either try opening the blog in another browser such as Google Chrome or Firefox, or find the documents that I have uploaded to your students Gaggle account. If you don't want to go through another browser or Gaggle to open the documents you may simply click on the title of the documents within this post and be directed to a website that is hosting these documents.

This will be one of the last major Science grades for this nine weeks.

Simple Machines Cartoon Assignment

We are creating a Simple Machines Cartoon in the style of “Rube Goldberg”-that uses at least 3 different types of simple machines to accomplish one task. Types of simple machines: levers, pulleys, inclined planes, screws, wedges, and wheel and axles.

This is a group assignment. Students will have class time to work on this Monday, February 6 and Thursday. The cartoons should be turned in on Friday for a grade.

See the explanation of the assignment below:
